OK. I'll sit down and shut up now.

btw, The cruise pictures were amazing. Thank you for sharing. I only wish we could anywhere near that many Camaros together at one time and place.
Oh, no - you didn't start it!! When the Mustang group accused the Camaro group of drinking before driving in the parade, that was what REALLY got me thinking! Drinking in a hotel parking lot, AFTER the event is fine by me! Enjoy your Jello shots, and have an extra for me, since I can't be there...

I have concerns about drinking at events also. I have worried a lot about a couple of our members whom I have witnessed drinking
at events (not heavily but that is not even the point any drinking combined with driving is a problem). I have even seen them put beer into containers & drink it while on the road. They have offered me beer too but I declined. I am embarassed to say I have not said anything to them about it but I really want to. I have resolved to bite the bullit if I see it again and just deal with the fallout, but safety is first. I have no problem with it in the parking lot at the Fest as it is after all events. They do have a rule in place about there being a certain number of hours between drinking & event driving. (Though I'm not sure how they will enforce that).

I am almost single mindedly thinking about the Fest. Not sure how good I will be at work on Mon & Tue. I hit the road on Wed. Detailing Ruby & getting things ready to pack today. Looking foward to meeting you & lots of other friends & have gotten to know on C5. It would be neat for those of us on this thread to get together at some point, maybe one evening in the parking lot. See ya there!

Good morning.

I know we're old farts in here, but that doesn't mean we don't like to - or know how to - have fun...
The post about jello shots, and some recent local events (one of them being that the Mustang group in last night's parade told parade officials that the Camaro group was all drinking. I knew some of the passengers were...) got me thinking...

What are all of your opinions about drinking at car-related events??

I have mixed feelings, and was just curious if anyone else has opinions...
No drinking and driving.Period. Having fun in the parking lot where it is allowed after/during an event where you are staying put is a different story. You don't have to have a drink/to drink to have fun.

StentS great looking car! Welcome back.
Safe drive everyone headed to the Fest.

I don't care for the folks who need to get inebriated at an event, I like to enjoy the event and possibly stop for a beer on the way home. Once the car's parked for the night, then meybe another but I'm not a big drinker on a good day. One or two is all I really care to imbibe in.

Glad you arrived safely and had a good trip! I'd be smiling like that too if my awesome dad gave me a Vette.

On the other hand, cars and alcohol don't go together, so what kind of message is it sending - especially to kids who attend shows or other car events - for the participants to be drinking??

I generally don't, but have had upon occasion to have an adult beverage at shows. I don't drink and drive, that's why I have Gary Ditto on the after the show libations.
I am really concerned about the driving in a parade. Not only just for safety reasons, the driver, kids along the parade route, people in general, but now for the reputation of that Camaro club. It was irresponsible actions of that participant that can have more repercussions in the future for that group/any Camaro group being involved in public activities.

I didn't even realize that the accusation was true until after the parade. Embarrassed to even be associated with it.

Good afternoon folks. Just got home. Gonna kick back and watch some Olympics. (My wife is an absolute olympics nut.) I bought her a little flag with the Olympics rings on it - she thinks I'm wonderful - boy, do I have her fooled!

Gee, Linda it's supposed to hit 103 here today. When did we trade places???

Yall have a great day. I'll check in again later.

(332 days till WCOFF II! I can't wait.)

I'm pretty much in fest mode now. I'm headed out Tuesday morning and I can't wait. The good news is I'm off work until after the fest. The car is polished and waxed. All I have to do is load it up tomorrow and I'm ready to go.

I'll see you in Bowling Green on Wednesday.
