Been Lurking

Been lurking here checking out the ZL1 subforums and for sale section. Might as well post my current project.

1967 Camaro (under the knife again)
ZL1 LSA
T56 Mag
Vintage Air
Speedtech front subframe
Chasis works triangulated 4bar
DSE Frame connectors and mini tub

A few pics

MORE RUST

Seam Sealer nearly removed

Right now I'm focusing on the firewall, subframe connector install and redoing the under side. I just got the subframe in last weekend and plan to hit it hard in the next couple weeks.

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

A few updates.......

Firewall fill plate just about in. Need to finish some bottom a little but its just about done.

Tack

ground down

up next Sub frame connectors and Engine mock up and firewall down bars

DSE subframe connectors are in
Down bars are in. I decided to weld them in with a removable tube adapter and the plates welded to the firewall. I have some clean up to do still. Next is to finish the trans tunnel with the speedtech cover then power wash / steam the underside and get the whole thing ready for undercoating and firewall paint.

Engine Mockup:

The Good
Mast Oil Pan fits nice
The engine fits
the steering rack clears the pan and rack.

The not so good:
Driver side header needs to be modified to make the steering connection. I know Speedtech makes a custom header but 1 primary tube modification and it will fit.

The crank pulley will interfere with the crossmember when i use the over drive LSA Pulley. The alternator is also very close. I will make pockets to fit these better.

I need to verify the Dirty Dingo low mount A/C will fit and then I can begin modification on the frame.

Been working on the header modification.

There was no room to go above. Not excited about the overall length and additional bends but for now its fine. I need to pinch some pennies and not buying $1500 headers is a good thing. i'll have my buddy tig them up but should have around $550 in them once done.
