How about the Camaro takes this plateform (which it is) and then the Chevelle gets the Current Camaro's platform?

That would be sound logic, but whether or not GM would want to do a RWD coupe between Camaro/Corvette is debatable.

I had heard that there was a GTO in development before Pontiac left....
It would be cool to have a Camaro and a Chevelle....

If GM expects ATS to make any headway in Europe, a diesel is required.

I think it would do well in the midwest... diesel may be ~40 mpg

Not sure what Reuss was talking about, but the 3.6L is rated at 315ish HP. Unless something has changed.

He said over 320 HP. Which, if tuned like the Camaro, would be 323. That isn't what any of the press materials are saying, though.
