That was my thought at first too but then he said it spun the car 180 degrees, so thats why it popped the side bags.

Looks like some side wall damage too, make sure you get a new tire(might want to replace both due to uneven tire wear can damage the limited slip, read owners manual, or Internet search). Looks like you got a little suspension damage, might need a lower control arm, or strut, and alignment.
Usually when the side curtain airbag goes it ruins the headliner, and that means the windshield may need to be removed possibly replaced to replace the headliner. Airbag sensor, seat back upholstery, bumper, repair decklid, new stripes for the decklid. Some shops don't like body filler on decklids because they get a lot of vibration from closing which can crack body filler over time(rarely). Looks mostly cosmetic damage to me, but it can add up quickly. I recommend taking it to an independent body shop (not a direct repair facility unless you have USAA which is unlikely because you live in Canada) with a good reputation to get the best repair. Don't forget the diminished value, accidents effect resale value. Here in the states people hire lawyers to get what's rightly their's. Most people get about 1000-1500$ for diminished value. I doubt it's a total loss. Good luck, I'm glad no one was seriously injured! |

hit a deer last year, over 12k, both front air bags and seat belts. No total, no carfax, insurance just fixed it. Was able to upgrade to ZL1 hood and bumper.

Sometimes it takes a while for it to show up on a vehicle history report. Check again, we fixed a 2014 CLA AMG45 that reported itself to the police when the airbags deployed. Customer paid 23k out of pocket to keep the vehicle history clean. But the accident showed up on a vehicle history report.

So, it will probably be totaled according to the expert who went to see the car..They sent it to fix Auto ( repair garage), they will have to confirm or not..Gonna give you updates.
