I’ve asked this before in another thread, but does anyone know if this oil is going to transition to the officially recommended oil for 2017/2018 ZL1s? Ive seen only mention of 2019 models, though I’m assuming it’ll be retroactive. Anyone?

Here is an education of mult-weight oil. My father was a chemist at Conoco and explained to me a long time ago about mult weight. The added polymers (viscosity index improvers (VII)) are not lubricants. The more polymers the less lubricating properties. But here is a chart of what temperature does to viscosity.

Hit 1500 miles and finished changing rear diff and engine oil. My local dealership now carries Mobil 1 ESP, 0w40, Dexos 2.
Oil looked clean in both, far less metal partiicals than the 500 oil change. |
