Polaris Slingshot
Just got back from grabbing some lunch and saw this while I was out. At first I only saw the front end and thought Xbow! Was a little disappointed when I saw the rear.
It's called a Polaris Slingshot. 175 hp and only weighs 1800 lbs. Estimated 0 - 60 in about 4.7, but looks pretty cool. Thoughts? http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t-drive-review

My local motorcycle dealership has one for sale/show. Funny thing is I read since it is neither a motorcycle or car it isn't road legal in TX.

I don't like it. I'd rather just hop on 2 wheels.

Anyway, most places consider 3 wheelers to be motorcycles but with the recent influx of these reverse-trike car/motorcycle mashups like the Slingshot, T-Rex, Spyder (thats the Can Am one) and others, some feel that they're too motorcycle like to be a classed as a car and that they're too car like to be classed as a motorcycle. So, since they can't be placed into a well defined box, they aren't considered to be anything and therefore can't be street legal.

Junk,
Just like the "T-Rex" 3 wheelers from years ago, these things will kill more aspiring rappers than 50-Cent. They crashed all the time. Oh wait, this one has cup holders, so its safe....... The road reviews are in and most of them say its not too good at handling. Just like 3 wheel ATV's this idea should be put out to pasture. Better off on 2 wheels or 4 wheels. |
