I do know that MRC and carbon wheels for example are not allowed, but it is not clear if the production car has MRC for example, can the race prep team simply replace them with regular shocks. I believe I read somewhere that GT4 cars are BOP'd to meet a specific range of power to weight, but I don't know how this relates to supercharging vs NA and what it would mean for a supercharged LT4. Are there any more 2017 GT4 knowledgeable fans out there? |

Well, look at the Z06 in the GT Le Mans. Again Supercharged 6.2 down to an NA 5.5. Im sure similar rules apply....

$25K off the Z28? I didn't see/hear any Chevy dealer discounting the Z28 at that price.

I know the C7.R is based on the Z06 chassis but it isn't called Z06.R, like the Z/28.R.

Not in CTSCC, But PWC. Can't imagine that happening as GM has been running the Caddy brand in that series for years. Personally i would venture a 90% chance if they announce a gen 6Z, it will have F.I., and 50% chance this one that's being spied is an up sell on the ZL1.

It's the C7.R Z06 I believe.

The Z/28.R and GT350R-C had to both be homologated into CTSC so I would imagine if an LT4 or similar engine was used then it would need to be as well. The CTSC can get by with more as compared to the GTLM or GT-PRO classes in IMSA and WEC, which is why the Corvette's cannot homologate a 6.2L engine.
Officially on all of the IMSA literature it just says C7.R however it still retains the Z06 badges. Realistically there isn't a lot in common with the production Z06. The C7.R has wider fenders, different hood, different engine, all the aero is different. The chassis is about the only thing that is the same.

The Z/28.R won the championship in '15 against a much larger and more diverse field which also included the GT350R in the only year they competed directly against each other.
