How can I take out the speed limiter???
Okay, i opened up my camaro and found out that the limiter is set in the 150 mph range (couldnt look down, had to pay attention to road). But can i have my dealer take out the limiter or do i need to take it to a car shop?

You can tune out your limiter because it's electronically controlled. But please be careful. Unless you're at track designed for speeds that fast, you have a death wish. No dealer will remove the limiter.

Why do you need to have the speed limiter removed??? Are you going to the Bonniville salt flats in Utah???

There is a road I kno that looks as if it was paved by the angels. Its a very long stretch that's perfect for that

Like mfr1950 said. The only road paved by Angels is the Bonneville Salt Flats. Other than that. You have a death wish. Please be careful. Becuase what's going to happen is you're going to wipe out some innocent individual and you'll walk away just fine. If 150mph isn't fast enough for you, you either need to be professional drag racer or you're just mental.

Your also looking for a ban from this site if you continue to brag about street racing. Just trying to help you stay out of trouble on here and on the road. 150 MPH is not cool on the streets no matter what time of day.

A word of caution....
(......and I don't want this to sound like a lecture - ) The speed limiter is there for a reason. Your tires are not validated or designed for speeds above that limiter. Driving above that limit could mean catastrophic (-- let me repeat that -- "CATASTROPHIC" failure of the tire. At 150 miles an hour, you become a missle. You endanger not only yourself, but anyone within visibility of the occurance. (...it's called flying debris -- including YOU the driver and anyone so unfortunate as to be with you at the time......) (double ) Again - not to lecture: But what are your Driving School Credentials? Unless you've been thru a very indepth driving cirriculum, you -- and no one else - has any business going over 100 mph. (....I really should say "the speed limit" -- but I'm also practical.....) What I don't think people adequately understand is that there is this law called physics. You may be able to GET to 150mph - but people forget how long it takes to go from 150 to zero. You and I may be good - but we can't re-write the law of physics. I must also point out that when you open the electronics - you run the very real possibility of having a portion of your warranty invalidated. Now - again - I'll repeat it one more time: I don't want this to sound like a lecture - but unfortunately it IS a lecture because as I pointed out - not only are you putting yourself in a very likely scenario that will put you in "That Great Chevy Showroom in the Sky" -- but you may take one or more people with you - most of which had no intention of doing so....at least so soon.... If you talk to people who have survived catastrophic accidents, invariably they'll say (assuming they were at fault) "...well - it seemed like a good idea at THE TIME..........." (followed by a sheepish, stupid look.....) So please -- I'm begging you - leave the computer alone and stop driving at high speeds on a public highway -- if you want to do daredevil stuff TAKE IT TO THE TRACK! (....I DO care what happens to you - those around you - and the Camaro we built for you!) Lecture over.

Hello!
|
I'd not worry about it until you start trapping 150+ in the 1320.
Going that fast on public roads will only lead to bad things...it will happen, just a matter of time. "Test" your Camaro in a controlled area, not on public roads...please! |

I understand you fully but it's kinda like a backroad that's hardly used.

Again - not only are you putting yourself at risk - you are putting anyone (and anything) within sight distance and a very dangerous risk!
