SS/RS comes with a stereo system w/a sub standard, the mustang does not, so you have to upgrade stereo to get it. The comfort package is electric seat and seat warmers (all three standard on SS/RS), so they have to be added. As for rims, the package comes with the 19's, so its included in price. I didn't add anything extra. and yes, the SS/RS comes with HIDs standard.

Here is what I came up with.
2010, and let me stress 2010 pricing, Base 1SS with no options comes in at $31,795. Now for the 2011 Mustang I built I added brembo brake package and 3.73 gear option and came up with $32,585. If you just go with the brembo brake package you are looking at $32,190. Those prices are very comparable. |

The only credible run in the GT for the mustang fan is a 12.7. THe only credible runs in thr GT for the camaro fan is obviously going to be the slower ones. This is just the way of the world. Is your sole purpose on this website only to argue about how good the mustang is? That is the only thing I ever see you doing. Go get a mustang and register on stangnet or something if you love them so much. I just dont know why so many of you mustang guys waste your time here. It is worse on this website than any other GM based board I have been on. Must be a lot of people are jealous/worried/angry in some way based on the camaro's performance/price/looks/sales success or any combination of the above. Their is also the immaturity factor as well. I just built the closest Mustang equivalent to my car as possible. It came up to just over $39K, which is before taxes/title/license. I paid about $2K less out the door... and that included a $1K Transformer package which I can't do on the Mustang.
Seems a tad on the pricey side to me.

A GT does not come standard with: -heated seats -electric driver seat -gears close to 3.45 (they are standard with 3.21 gears) -20" wheels (standard is 19") -sub woofer (you have to upgrade stereo to get it) -HID's -brembo brakes Those are all standard on a 2SS/RS. So, I had to add them to the GT and that is where you get the higher price tag. |

2010 2SS/RS with Interior trim accent package and audio system upgrade w/sub is $36,495 + $1,500 for the dealer having to install some stuff so it comes out to roughly $37,995. For a 2011 Mustang GT premium w/ brembo brake package, security package, HIDs, interior comfort package(that includes heated seats and even power seats for the passenger), and Shaker 1000watt audio system the total comes to $38,595. Still very comparable. |

The Camaro is .4 seconds and 1 mph slower...prolly due to an extra 350 pounds which is in the IRS, the dry sump oil tank, and heavier wheels. 9 qts of oil weighs a lot!
Also, as I understand it, the 5-Oh is already heavily modded with headers, etc, from the factory. Ford has squeezed a ton of power out of the smaller mill. On the other hand, the LS3 awaits your mods... And maybe the fat guy drove the Camaro and the skinny guy the Mustang. Either way, I'm good with less than half a second and 1 mph diff. And if Chevy fights back...even better. |
