Mine usually reads really hot. Sometimes it's normal, other times it sits at like 115-138. I know it's hot in Texas, but it ain't 138!

I do not DD my car, so I drive it one or two days a week. When I pull it out and hit the road, sometimes it reads high or low. I think it settles in on the temp in my shop and is there for so long it takes a while to adjust once I hit the road. Sometimes it is an hour before it starts reading correctly. Not sure why, but I don't count on it anyway.

First car I've had with a inaccurate temperature display.
Just picked up a used 2010, and driving home the other night (45min on the road), the temp sensor reading dropped to 31F while driving down the interstate. Knew that was wrong, since it was raining hard, and road spray was everywhere. Kept going, and it dropped to 30F. Started wondering WTH? Finally got to my exit, and pulled over. There's a DOT weather station at that exit, so I pulled out my phone and checked it, which reported 33.3F. I found that once the reading dropped from 29F to 28F, the road turned to ice. Also found out the Camaro does not like ice. Made it home safely after some unexpected work to keep the front end ahead of the back. I searched around for solutions for calibrating the sensor, but only found 2 threads here, with nothing but the standard 'take it to the dealer' answer. Bummer, but I'm glad it's not in error reading lower than actual, vs higher. I might have hit that ice thinking it was 36F. BTW, loving the car, so far!

Mine is reading the opposite.
I've had my Camaro less than 5 months. I've always noticed the temperature on MyLink reading sorta off but didn't think anything of it.
Today, the temperature was 87 degrees here & the car was parked in an underground garage. The whole 45 minute drive from work, to pick up a friend & then home, it read 70 degrees. I think 17 degrees off is an issue. Any suggestions?

Mine just started acting up also. It will stay the same all day sometimes 20 degrees off. next day works perfect. I still dont know if its worth having it at the dealer all day but I do like having the outside air temp working.

Time to visit the dealer.
I think you have a bigger issue that you are listening to "Summer Girls" - 90's on 9. That decades pop music sucked. You should be listening to hard rock like hair nation or liquid metal. You will feel much cooler.

The thermometer in my '99 Blazer is off by 2-3 degrees (high).
There's no calibration for them. You can try replacing the sensor, but the new one may be off, too.

The song came on while I was taking the picture. You can see my presets on the bottom.

Hell, my phone's weather temp is often wrong. The weather guy reports a high of 74, but i'm sweating... I get in the car and see it is actually 85. I don't sweat in 70 degree weather. My car's temp is the one I rely on because day to day it is the most accurate. I can see temps change just from driving 3 miles from home to work. It's usually a couple degrees warmer in the area where I work.
I think the Blueridge mountains we live near causes a lot of the fluctuations, but nobody can seem to ever get the temps right. |

In the 1990's we had Nirvana, REM, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, The Offspring, Jane's Addiction, Foo Fighters, etc... damn good bands.
