I took your dreams & wishes for Z/28 to the Camaro Team. It seems to me that they tossed them into a great big kettle with their own dreams & wishes and came out with one super duper Z/28. Keep me posted on your dreams & wishes for a next gen Z/28...we never know what will happen, but we can all dream.

For those of you not afraid to actually hold a magazine in your hands and read it (pretty much all us old coots, and most of the youngin's), I recommend the May '14 issue of Road & Track. "Motown Mile" 1LE vs. BOSS 302 results (hint: YEAH!), Z/28 test...oh, and 50 years of Mustangs...
Here's a preview: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...29#post7539229 BTW, Janet, you are a friend indeed! And THANKS! |

Great post 3!!!
I have a question for you House faithfuls. If the ZL1 had been called Z28 or Z/28 what would the reaction have been from a.) the faithful and b.) the general Camaro enthusiast? |

Excellent post Number 3.
Blueclyde, if they had called the ZL1 the Z28 it would have been divergent from the history of Z28, but I would still have loved the car and would have accepted it. Then we wouldn't have known what to call the real Z28 though, so I'm glad they didn't. If I had enough kidneys to sell I'd just have one of each. There, track day versus daily driver problem solved.

I find it interesting that it was important to stick to the "historical" nature of the Z/28. It seems to me that there must have been some internal struggle inside GM during the long period of time that the Z was on the board. As we now know what we all thought was going to be a Z...28 initially turned out to be a ZL1, which likely no customer/enthusiast was even thinking about. I think the masses would have been ecstatic had GM called the ZL1 a Z28 (no slash).
I get the history and all but the general enthusiast could likely care less if the car was NA or boosted. It means nothing to me and I am personally very happy with my ZL1. Times change I guess. Technology evolves. The new Z/28 is incredible, no doubt. It just seems like it should have been higher volume and more attainable to the average Joe enthusiast. |

We all thank you for your support and contributions to the continuous development of the 5the Gen and future product. Can I ask you to do more of the same? 1. We would love an IROC / 1LE-R - ZL1 six pots up front, brakes ducts and LS7 2. The ZL1 deserves to go out screaming fast, and best the GT 500 in every measure. We are want to go nuclear on ford. Drop the LS9 on them in 2015. These two vehicles combined with the Z/28 will have the magazines raving about the 5th Gen until the first 6th Gen becomes available for early reviews. More important to us a the faithful, we'll do more than talk about them. We'll buy them |

Well, as mostly an avid follower of this thread vs contributor, it is good to see #3 espouse & recap what many have been saying about the comps between the Z/28 and ZL1. Many who stated put those 305's all around on the ZL1 and take it to the "ring" and got a rash thrown back saying "it's not a factory to factory comp, so get lost" basically. Or "you just don't get it"..... #3 YOU GET IT. And, now, since YOU SAY IT, IT'S "ok" now to say it. For those diehards who gave out the spankings, it's nice to see you didn't spank #3. After all, he has credibility eh? I really believe #3 gave it a truly fair assessment. CAFE` is about to take it's toll. Who knows what recalls lurk. At any rate, just for the sake of "wishing", it would be nice to see a ZL1 normally aspirated option with the LS7. Or, if put on the 1LE (great idea), add a beefier rear end to accommodate drag runs and, yes, an automatic version. Now, back to your relaxing house.
Also, all this on page 580. 580 Horsepower. Nice.

Wish List is a work in process. You keep talking & I will keep adding.
BTW, I do like the 580 since the one in my garage is very precious to me. It is going to the Vette Club meeting tonight Janet |

I like this idea so much, that if you don't build it, I think I will. I will eventually sell one of these houses. You can only live in one at a time anyway. I'll just have to look high & low to find the right used ZL1, get ADM to put an LS9 in it, and then have Pete help me epoxy the tires to the street. It will be easier if you do it, and it would be SO sweet to best the pony in every direction.
