TPS/ reduced power light.

Ever since I got my car out of winter storage I have been getting the TPS code and that the power is reduced. I keep and OBD scanner in the car so I am able to clear the code. I went a couple of weeks without getting the reduced power notice on the DIC but the past 2 times I've driven the car it's happened both times.

Before the reduced power light comes on I don't notice anything different with the car and as soon as I clear the code the car operates normally. Anyone else have this problem? If so did you replace the TPS or the whole throttle body assembly?

The problem is no matter which one I buy I can't return even if that's not the problem with the car. The OEM throttle body assembly is like $400 so I would hate to buy one and find out that it's not the problem.

Throttle body is known to cause these problems. If I were you I'd probably upgrade and get a ported throttle body and be done with it.

Thanks for the responses. Is it worth upgrading to the larger 102MM TB? Any idea how much more HP that will get me? I did find out that if I change the TB to anything other than the OEM unit that my computer will have to be tuned to accept it. I don't want to go through all of that for a 5HP boost or something small like that.

A 102 will be pointless since the factory manifold is still a 90mm opening. You would have to tune for that big of a TB. It wouldn't be worth the trouble. Get a factory one or a ported one. The ported one will help with throttle response and a tune will help even more.

No point in a 102MM unless you are boosted and pushing a lot of power

I'm 10rwhp on ported 90 vs 102 on my heavily modded N/A build.
