L99 Tune
Hi Guys,
Waiting for my L99 SS to arrive in June and heard a lot of comments on AFM deactivation through range device and tune. I'm willing to go for a tune with only CAI. Im not planning to put other mods. The question is what should I expect from a tune in terms of hp performance, transmission shift firmness, and throttle response? Any recommendations on a specific tune? Thanks

Contact Ted at Jannetty Racing, he will set you straight, also if you buy the CAI from him, the tune itself is free.
You will still need a handheld tuner to install the tune, unless you get an ACM flash tune, in which case I would recomend Nick Frost out of Richmond VA. The L99 is supposed to benefit a lot from a tune as the shift points are pretty conservative.

I am pretty sure Ted can do a remote 95 octane tune, email him to find out.
You may also want a 93 or 91 octane tune just in case you end up somewhere without 95 octane (LUCKY!) You could also buy a bottle or 2 of Torco Accelerator octane boost, and just keep it handy in case you end up somewhere without the good stuff.

Octane 95 is the standard fuel trim in most Middle East oil producing countries. I was wondering why my Camaro shakes like a washing machine when I start filling gas and it seems that it is not used to drinking heavy stuff . Ted please spoil my V8. She is +18

Just make sure that your rating is apples to apples.... we don't rate octane here the same as most countries overseas.
Quick quote from a Google search on this: "In Europe, the octane rating on the pump is simply the RON figure. America, by contrast, uses the average of the RON and the MON figures, called the AKI (anti-knock index). Thus, 97 octane “super unleaded” in Britain is roughly equivalent to 91 octane premium in the United States." |

But Im not looking forward to mod my car like his. An email tune or handheld tuner will do me good for my daily drive.
