We use Kooks primarily and often times American Racing.

Can you please elaborate on this? Sometimes I wonder if i shouldve gone with cheaper headers so I would have more money saved up for my cam lol...however, im not going to lie, I do absolutely love my Tri-Y's.

Kooks made a post elaborating on it in a thread that I think was deleted a while back. I remember back in the day Pfadt posting their performance numbers, and they were showing some large gain, but it was under the curve at a very specific RPM..not peak power.

So then correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt that mean it would be more suitable for a street application due to the fact that we arent at peak power all the time? Unless we are doing some very spirited driving (which i am guilty of from time to time)

That's why I was also looking at Pfadt Tri-Y headers due to the under the curve gains and not having to trim my belly pan.

Mid-range gains and clearance. This is not a ZL1 but here's Doc's dyno sheet from his build thread showing where the mid-range picked up.

Marginal gains when you consider $/hp. They're no better than the rest. The quality was good but some others are equal there too imo. Stainless works gets my vote.

Agree. Modest gains. SW headers are good just as all the rest of them are. The difference between the cheapest $300 headers and $3500 custom built max effort headers are also marginal $/hp. Even a good tubular log manifold fed by 8" long primaries will come within 6-8 hp of long tubes provided they dont have restrictive OEM style cats behind them.

Clearance couldnt be beat on the Pfadts though.
