personally i would chose a tuner that will at least make some changes to a tune if it needs to be changed...for example you get an email tune..... which i think there is nothing wrong with....ask the tuner if once you upload his tune......you get a dyno run and datalog the runs...if you can send him your datalog file and let him look over it to see if more can be done or something needs to be tweeked....thats how i would make my decision i think youll find more than one or two who will be willing to do that.

i will do a base run on a stock tune
upload the new tune
do three runs with the new tune and data log them
send the log to my tuner for his review
let him make any changes if needed and mail it back to you
upload that tune and data log
let the tuner say he is happy with his changes
hual ass down the road!!

its called remote tuning and its worth the extra dyno time (most dyno shops will just charge you by the hour) and the tuner may want a few more dollars for his time. but thats the way to go IMO

is there any tuners on this posting that are against that? if so please correct me.

Great Write up that is how it is done for the most part.

We also offer AEM wide band gauges and SCT fire wire so you can hook the Wide band to the SCT tuner and log AFR.

Ted.

I do that.... I offer several varying levels of remote work. They go from one-off files to the other extreme.... multiple base files (MAF, VE, idle,) and multiple scanner cfg files (to set the scanner up for each), step by step (as in, click by click) instructions on how to load the files, how to log for each, and then multiple revisions until completion. There are options in the middle of those two as well, but typically the combo more dictates the need.

Thanks!

Yes that's correct. Its not a one and done here's your tune. I send you the new HP Tuners calibration for your car and a HP Tuners scanner configuration to keep and use so I can read the collected data on a test run. You send me the scan, and I make the changes. For me, mail order tunes take about three exchanges of tunes and reportable data to make right.
