Why is the dealer no help? they are making a lot of money off you. Go to the general manager and tell them you want an update. Bypass any salesman and any sales manager. Tell the general manager that this is no way to get a good CSI report from you after you take delivery. That will get his attention.

This is the 3rd or 4th thread OP starts with the same question, and never heeds the plain advice given. Strange.

Camaro2021, here's what you need to do. Click on the link Baldman included in the third post of this thread. You'll see Joe's tracking thread come up, similar to the screenshot below.
Click the red "Post Reply" button, and in this post ask Joe for the current status on your order XXKP6V. He will respond with a status code in that same thread. You can "decrypt" this status code from the table that Becky () included in the first post of the tracking thread back in 2015. You can do this every now and then to check the status again as your order is moving through the pipeline. At some point, usually at or shortly after status 3000, your order will be assigned a TPW (target production week) when your vehicle is to be produced. Once that week comes, ask Joe again, and if your Camaro is built, he will be able to give you the VIN of your new car. After this, it will still go through the shipping pipeline all the way to your dealer, who will then call you to arrange your delivery. Feel free to ask if you have additional questions, and good luck

Salesmen live day to day so cars on order are the farthest thing from their mind. Heck some might not survive long enough to see it come in.
The Chevy/Buick/GMC dealer here has constant turn over of salesman, none of them are over 30. According to one I knew and who got canned last year, constant pressure to sell and push leases. He said he was canned because he was the lowest salesman lease wise of their 6 GM stores (2/Mich, 2/Minn, 2/Wis). He now sells Kioti tractors and says no quotas here. Another salesman whom I known for years but never bought a GMC from him was moved to Finance sales. This dealer sucks, they now claim to be the largest Chevy dealer in the UP of Michigan. Ran 2 other GM dealer out of business, Bruno's Motors and Frei Chevrolet and they were long time dealers, the later nearly 100 yrs.. PS they have 471 Chevy's available at their 6 stores...........only 3 are Camaro's, 101 Silverado's....

@Camaro2021, I know you're excited. Ordering a car to your exact specification is a really cool option. However, it's only been a week, and this process takes a little time to get rolling. So there's probably not a whole lot for them to tell you right now. I would guess, being early in the 2021 building cycle, that you're looking at about eight weeks until delivery. The biggest events along the way that you are looking for is when the order is accepted, which probably already is. Next, for it to be scheduled for production, which is typically when it is given a Target Production Week and a vin# is assigned to it. After that, is when it is built and then released to the shipper. From there, I know, at least for brand I work for, it can be tracked from one shipping point to another. I know when I've ordered cars for customers, I always tried to update them when it hit the next major step in the process. Hopefully your sales person will do the same. |

Your car is currently at 1100 status, which means that it's still in preliminary order status. Your dealer is going to have receive an allocation for a 2021 Camaro before your order can move in the order process.
Dealers receive allocations each week on Thursday. Once your dealer receives a Camaro allocation from GM, the dealer will have to move it to 2000 status or "placed". While in 2000 status, changes such as color or options can still be made to the order. It will remain in 2000 status until the following Tuesday evening. After close of business on Tuesday, it will move to 3000 status or "In System". After that, it's just a matter of waiting on GM to assign a Target Production Week(TPW) and then waiting on it to be shipped to the dealer. Hope this helps. |

I ordered a 2014 C7 from Rick Conti at Coughlin in Ohio in 2014, they sent me a GM workbench PDF every Monday morning via email. I didn’t even have to ask for it , it was their standard procedure, that’s the way things should be done, it isnt asking for the moon. |
