silly question but why do people clean underneath the car after a rain shower? I understand snow/salt. But why rain? rusting?

My dream was to own a Camaro one day and so when the option was there I went for it.
I love driving my '15 RRM 2LT everyday it makes me happy. I used to drive a '13 Spark then traded for the Camaro sometimes I miss the little Spark but I love my Camaro so much |

There are some who tell me that this car is waterproof , and can be driven in the rain.
I am not so sure about that. I bought my 2011 new , and have never driven it in the rain. |

Rain is when the fun starts
Easy skids all day long in the rain |

If you think the rain is fun, you have gotta try it in the snow! Sometimes on dry roads I feel that 426 hp isn't quite enough...never questioned that in the snow.

Was caught in a thunderstorm a few hours ago. Torrential rain. Wow, the wipers go really fast. Back in the garage, looked good with all of the rain droplets, but I decided to take advantage of nature's car wash to get the dirt off and then dry it off.

Mikey Thompson drag radials in the rain. No problem.

There were over 500,000 of these cars produced... so no garage queen for me.
Even though it does receive a weekly wash and is garaged, I am the one making the payments here so I remind my car who's the boss! Now if it was a C7 z06 or something that'd be a different story... |

About the only reason I don't drive in the rain or leave it out is to keep it clean. The pollen from the trees followed by a rain storm makes a real mess of my hard work.
I have a truck I can drive on the crappy days. My car is not a DD my company truck is used for that. If it were a DD I would be less picky as it would be harder to keep clean all of the time anyways. Its funny I never garaged the Camaro for the first 3 years except in the winter when it was stored. Now that its older I take better care of it LOL. Not sure why that is... |

I will never set out to drive in the rain but I'm not the guy pulling under an overpass when it does. In fact i kind of enjoy trying to do a little bit better of a job cleaning every time, its like a competition against myself. Mine is not a daily driver nor do i expect it to be worth $100,000 in 20 years. I am looking to keep it clean and as close to new for as long as i own it. |

I drive my car 365 days a year. Rain, snow, sun....but not ice, I tell my clients to reschedule. I clean my car either 2 times a month, or every 2 months depending how dirty it gets. Winter I do it every two weeks.
