Just some thoughts:
To me the new front fascia upper grille seems to have less area which I suspect would offer less cooling on a car where heat is already somewhat of an issue. Assuming that is true they are not going to hurt the performance by updating the cosmetics. It is also possible the downforce levels would be changed in a negative way as the ZL1 hood is different from the new vented hood. So I don't think it is being lazy, just knowing they perfected the design already and don't want to mess with it. Clearly they took cues from the ZL1 for the new fascia.

Regardless it is going to look kinda ridiculous with the new rear end with the old front. I despise everything about the new rear end though so I might be bias... |

Agree to disagree. I don't think it'll look ridiculous...haven't heard anyone complaining about the ZL1's nose. If anything, it might look more purposeful and more distinct.
Personally, I was actually pretty interested to know why the Z/28s front end wasn't changed a little more from the normal piece. One thing is true, as was mentioned in here...They learned/discovered that when the lower opening is bigger than the upper opening, the car takes on a more lean, sporty look. They learned this from the ZL1...the lower grille for which was designed to function...and function demanded BIG. So in effect, the ZL1's front end could be considered "in between" the original design and the refresh. EDIT: Also...no cooling "problems" for ZL1 in OE form. Higher cooling needs, sure, due to the blower and higher overall power...but most of the cooling air for the heat exchanger comes from the lower air dam, anyways. |

I would safely say the Z/28 was tested in a wind tunnel, they would not go through the front and rear design changes the way they just for funsies or on a whim. The ZL1 was extensively tested in a wind tunnel, the tailight changes have not been disclosed, nor the shape or design of the rear fascia, decklid, spoiler, lower aero panel and rear diffuser. The rear would reflect the style refresh of the 2014 is all they said. Lets wait and see before anyone passes harsh judgement. Let's not jump the gun.

I always said I can live without my A/C but what about rainy days it's hot? Also, I have always had a nice sound system in my car but after hearing the V8 turning on and accelerating in these cars I don't really care about it (the sound system) anymore. No HID's either. Hmm! I can sacrifice that. Especially with the ceramic brakes. I have always said with other cars, especially luxury cars, I'll give up the heated steering wheel in exchange for dual exhaust. A little bit of sacrifices but I'm sold!

Look at the first PDF. Lots of good info. I believe they were Black, Silver Ice Metallic, Ashen Grey, Summit White, and Red Hot.
