i have no girlfriend nor wife, but i do have parents and an aunt i live with and they HATE IT when i spend money on my camry.
well for small stuff i just go to the store, pay with cash, and install them myself
for something big like suspensions and wheels that i can't pay cash with, i find excuses. something like "it's time to get the suspensions replaced because they are worn out and it's too difficult to find 14 inch tires so an upgrade to 17 will be better. besides wider tires = more contact with ground = more grip and safety"
