Most stores that have decent prices are wiped out and it's hit and miss.

HIGH POINT FIREARMS?

I'd like some input from this thread on this firearm? 9mm,45 and 380. I'm looking at all 3. Please PM me with your thoughts!

No reason to PM when we can discuss it openly! You want to get all 3?

What do you want to use them for? For instance, there are compact versions for all of them, but if you're ok having a full sized pistol, I would get a 1911 for the 45. They are excellent weapons. However ballistic gel data for a .40 and a 45 are very similar. 1911's typically have only 8 round mags standard, but the 40 will have a larger cap mag standard. Also, 45's like the XD are generally polymer handguns, where the 1911 is not. Just a couple examples.

So what's the use? Target shooting? Looking for something to concealed carry? Home defense? Lots of things to think about

I hear no weapons/accessories manufacturer listens to anybody from Ohio

The Sig P229 is a decent CCW handgun. I don't remember if it comes in .45, but I know it is 9mm and .40. The Springfield XD series also nice and compact.

Home Defense = 12 gauge shotgun.... when chambering a round makes the universal sound to get the F out of my house. Depending on your load it wouldn't shoot through multiple walls in your house.

I own a Hi Point C9 (9mm) paid 160.00 for it brand new. It's a heavy gun, need to shoot hard ball in it. It's yet to jamb, and I do rapid fire it. They are made in the good ole USA and carry a Lifetime Warranty. Dollar for dollar they can't be beat. Go to a dealer and buy one, your buddies will give you sh*t, but you will have a ball with it. Hi Point makes a smaller .380 but have not held one.

My conceal carry is a Ruger 380. Great little gun

I have always been a Glock fan owning 6 now. I kept hearing about the XD and how great they are. Well I finally broke down and bought a 4.5 inch XDM in 9mm. It is a nice feeling gun, and when it shoots is pretty accurate. In the first 100 rounds I had 2 stove pipes, 1 fte and 1 FTF. That is 4 errors in 100 rounds.

I shoot IDPA and never get these issues with my Glocks or 1911, so I don't think it is my shooting style or ammo. I use Sellier & Bellot. I am sending the mags in for service. All the jams occurred when down to 2 or 3 in the mag.

As to the person who asked if a 1911 is two big to conceal, NO. I carry a 5 inch Remington R1 all the time. I wear it IWB in a Comp-Tac Infidel Ultra holster. It is not going to conceal under a t-shirt and shorts very well, but it does under a vest or untucked button up shirt. When I am in shorts or suit type slacks, I carry a Glock 36 in a comp-Tac MTAC. Nobody had ever noticed it when I have a golf shirt or t shirt on.
