From my limited watching, it should have beat out all other GTE level cars, for a good portion of the race it did lead them.

Towards the beginning they got unlucky with a pace car or something. (I didn’t catch the specifics other then a short interview they had shown with the team lead)

Around the middle they had to do a brake swap that put them down from around 28th position overall to 30s and they climbed back to 32nd position but that’s when the trans blew.

After over an hour and a half they were back in the race but the next position up was 16-17 laps ahead of them at that point. If the trans didn’t blow they probably would have returned to leading the GTE class.

If you watch the middle portion of the race they were fighting for the lead and holding it often

Finishing itself is a great accomplishment overall

The Camaro wasn't in GT, it was in "Garage 56" which is a special experimental division of its own. The car was faster than all GT cars but they weren't restricted on power the way the GT class was with balance of power to help keep the division ultra competitive. I have to say it was a pretty cool effort and definetely was worth the entry. And yes, any car that finishes Le Mans is to be celebrated.

Such a great race, it's one of the few I watch anymore. The Hypercar stuff was fantastic as well. Rain on half the track a couple of times was quite the treat too.

True, though I like to think the extra power they were allowed got a little offset by the weight of the car compared to the others
