My question to you is, do the intercoolers work as well as they claim and how much cutting is involved in the install? I use my 1LE for autocross and open trackdays which are about 1/2hr sessions running all out. I don't want heatsoak to be an issue and will probably return it to stock condition when sell it in the future. Thanks.
I had a jackshaft Maggie on my old LS3 motivated Vette. I have a Heartbeat Maggie on my new one. Both bought from BlownChevy btw. Good guy to deal with.

Comparing the two, the Heartbeat definitely runs cooler under boost. Also recovers much quicker. Generally speaking, IAT's go up about half as much as the jackshaft Maggie at similar boost levels (9.5ish psi). The Heartbeat goes up about 20 degress vs the jackshaft Maggie's 35 to 40 degrees. If airflow is good, IAT's are 12 to 15 degrees over ambient at cruise on both of them.

On a road course, you're going to have good airflow. As long as you're on and off the throttle, IAT's won't be a problem with the HB. I had my old Vette on a road course with the jackshaft Maggie and it wasn't a problem with that one either. You can't stay at WOT too long before braking for the next turn. As soon as you're off the throttle, IAT's go down. I'd be more worried about my radiator and engine oil cooler keeping up.

I don't know if the Vette and Camaro heat exchanger is the same or not. I can't imagine the Camaro's h/e being any smaller. It's a good piece. I think the intercooler is actually bigger/taller on the Camaro HB. The more efficient intercooler and the better h/e make the HB a good option.

I don't think you're going to see a big difference in h/p per pound of boost between the two. There may be bigger differences at really high boost levels. Cooler IAT's are good for some power though. It would be interesting to see boost levels on both sides of the intercooler. The HB may have some advantages there. My HB is spinning faster than my old jackshaft 2300, but boost levels are almost the same. The cam and headers are a little bigger on the HB blown LS3 vs the older jackshaft blown LS3. May not be a valid comparison for that reason.

Another great part is no mods to the hood scoop. Bolts right in place neatly I hear.

No problem clearing hood scoop. We removed the drip pan for better airflow, and we are in the process of making a retainer for the hood liner.
