I thought for sure those wouldn't end up as the production wheels, but lone behold they did. They aren't bad looking at all, but something with concave would be MUCH better.

Yep! One of the first styling queues that caught my eye.... Raised center hood and center lowered roof line are also right there with the Camaro style....

First thing that hit me in the face was that strong rear-quarter panel. VERY deep "hip", and very strong, solid sheet metal down to the wheel...if you cut off all the rest of the car, it almost looks like they copy/pasted the Camaro's rear quarter.....not a bad thing, if you ask me. It's one of my favorite design elements!

For those saying the profile looks like Ferrari or what-not:
Guys, you must keep in mind that its pretty much impossible to design a car anymore with the best performance in the wind tunnel that hasn't been done. Why do you think after so many hours in the wind tunnel that many of these exotics end up with the same shape? Because its the best lines for the least amount of drag (or downforce in all the right places). Chevy has delivered somewhat of an American exotic, at much more attainable pricetag here.

I really can't wait to hear the final exhaust note. I mean, if I buy one, I'm going to modify the exhaust anyway, but I'm curious to hear the production exhaust

just can't get enough

I'm glad it's a major departure. I'm glad the new Stingray is far from retro. And I'm glad it's more exotic-like and will likely have a global appeal, not simply penned to please the purists. IMO change is good for the Vette so it's about time. GM thought outside-the-box. Kudos. I'd certainly seriously consider one once those ADMs subside... likely in 2014.

This is just the start...
"And that’s just the beginning. There are other versions of the ‘Vette quietly under development, likely to include the step-up Z06 and the next-generation ZR1, which likely will reach well beyond 600 horsepower." "Pricing won't be announced until close to launch, later this year but, hints Juechter, "Our business case was based on the idea if you can afford the current Corvette you can afford this one." "Chevrolet officials have kept an unusually tight lid on the 2014 Corvette and it’s likely to be a while before they’re ready to give out the first rides for reviewers. Production won’t begin until mid-year, though a largely hand-built model is reportedly going to be featured during the upcoming Super Bowl – and then given to halftime superstar performer Beyonce." |
