I would only preorder a PS4 if it is entirely backwards compatible with ALL previous PlayStation software. As it stands, it will be a long time before I upgrade my PS3.

I have a lot more into my PC, and will continue to keep it on the level with current performance.

i'm just curious, but why is this SO important? I understand wanting to play your old games you love, but you don't think there will be new games you will love just as much? and if not, just plug in your ps3 and play your old game?

I never understood the whole backward compatible thing. I knew a few people that said the same thing about ps2 going to ps3, when they got their ps3, they never played a ps2 game again, except for maybe a few times. lol

I dont know about backwards compatible with all previous playstation titles. But the Gankai service is supposed to be able to STREAM several legacy games. How many or how well the streaming works only time will tell

I'm not worried about backwards compatibility cause currently I have the room and have all my systems back to sega genesis connected

I cannot speak for everyone. But for me, some of my favorite games are old school, original PS & PS2 games. I traded in my PS2 (which played original PS software) in on my first PS3 which was supposed to be backwards compatible - but wasn't. I acquired a PS2 to PS3 port for one of my favorite games. There are PS3 games I love too, but some of the story and replayability on those old favorites is important to me. I have went back and replayed a few of my favorites so many times I can go through them start to finish in record time. Still love them. Fortunately, my husband still has a PS2, which I confiscate on occasion to play those oldies. However, if the PS4 were to play ALL PlayStation software, I would get it, trade in my PS3 and not have to sneak into the den to play Soul Reaver.

I was really hoping for a new Naughty Dog title. That would be an instant system seller. Hopefully we will get The Last of Us 2 soon.

Might be getting uncharted 4 if what he said holds any weight

i honestly believe Naughty Dog is the Bungie for Sony. Uncharted is way too successful to think it is over and done with.

I agree uncharted was a great series, and everything naughty dog puts out is on the money, but Last of Us was a great game and was a success so maybe they will make a last of us trilogy or make uncharted 4

Either way I'm excited to see what they come out with
