I read as much as I can about the new Charger. Where did you see the I6 was confirmed and no manual?

Just one of the articles regarding this. If you really want in-depth stuff on the new Charger, look for articles by Patrick Rall - he's a personal friend and a serious MOPAR in the know person. They've already shown several pictures of the Charger with a trans tunnel, and some of them with what appears to be exhaust vents on the rear as well.

“No sign of a manual transmission offering” isn’t necessarily a confirmation verbatim of no manual transmission. The author is just explaining they didn’t see one.

Pretty hard to justify investing in car that had plummeting sales since 2016.
If they could have sustained 50k a year a 7th gen would certainly be on the horizon. Maybe another 7 year pause would renew interest again. 2023...... 23,678 2022...... 24,652 2021....... 21,893 2020....... 29,775 2019....... 48,265 2018....... 50,963 2017....... 67,940 2016....... 72,705 2015....... 77,502 2014 ........86,297 2013 ........80,294 2012....... 91,314 2011....... 88,249 2010 .......81,299 2009....... 61,648 Total .......906,474

Well to start, 3 of those last 4 years were basically COVID, when you either couldn't get parts, paint, or a car in general. Hell, even in 2024 they ran into a combination of strikes and part issues. So let's cut to the real issues then.... 1.) There were a good portion of customers who literally hated that the 6th gen looked like the 5th gen. 2.) GM made literally no effort to sell the car via advertisement or discounts 3.) GM made no effort to bump HP to combat their competition while their competition bumped HP and offered more HP options. 4.) Car was simply over spec'd and over priced compared to stripper models for the Mustang/Challenger. Instead of offering the models like they did with the 5th gen, they chased too much money... 5.) GM cares way too much about the Corvette, not realizing they are pricing themselves out of market by a lot of normal people. This is going to cost them both customers and interest in other models as well.

Mustang will continue to have a manual with the V8 until it dies, which now may be never. Porsche has publicly stated no way would they ever stop offering the 911 without a flat 6 and a true manual. The manual may be down, but it’s not out. In fact there was an article in Road and Track a few months ago talking about Gen Z’s new found interest in the manual transmission.

I love manual cars and up until about the last 5-6 years, had generally had at least one manual car. However, they are just dying out more and more. And that's all my comment was about. It's not to talk bad, it's just the reality of what's in the market. Porsche: Performance Mustang: Performance Toyota Corolla: Economy (and more sold over seas than here) Supra: BMW Performance...
