Just worked on some other stuff. My girlfriend's parents wanted some tables to use when they eat diner in the living room while seating on the couch watching tv. They also wanted a smaller set to use for extra plates and whatnot. And a request was that this smaller set would not take any extra square foot when stored.

Nice tables! Is that painted MDF? And did you biscuit join or dowel? I can't see any fasteners.

Below is the fort I made for the kids this past summer. The structure is new pressure treated but the fort on top is made from a fence I took down. Monkey bars and a slide will be attached this spring/summer.

Nice structure! Also nice that you were able to reuse old fence to make it, it reduces the cost dramatically!

For my table, it is actually birch and I applied 3 layers of black stain mixed with polyurethane to get a durable finish that is waterproof.

The tops are joined using dowels, the 3 pieces for the legs are joined using finger joints and straight pieces between the legs are joined using biscuits. Wanted to experiment new joining techniques and also wanted them to be as solid as possible. All the joints were then screwed and the screw holes were filled with dowels sanded flush.

Here are some pictures of them without the stain.

Fine work. Looks like a hobby you could make some money with as well.

It does not pay that much.

Not a lot of people are willing to pay the price it is worth.

I started a thread here in the non automotive section listing some cutting boards I make. Listed them on Kijiji as well as Facebook and everything, not a single interest yet haha.

These are custom items and the price comes with it.

Those tables above are a request from my girlfriend's parent and her father told me that he has been looking for something like this but couldn't find exactly what he wanted. He was tired of his old flimsy table and was ready to pay the price for a custom set.

Fine work indeed. I think you could earn some cash on Etsy, people nowadays love buying handmade stuff.
I can't remember any serious experience with woodworking, just cutting trees and hitting nails.
By the way, I'm going to buy a small table saw maybe one of these for some minor fixes, never had anything like that. What should I know before buying?

Depends on what you are looking for. If you don't do much, a job site table saw may work. If you are doing a lot, a cabinet saw might be the best. I personally would have loved to get a sliding side table for all my crosscut.

I do have a King International 10in cabinet saw and it works flawlessly.

Been working on another project than cutting boards. This one is really a challenge that I am giving myself. I want to make a guitar. But not an electric... An acoustic.. with fanned frets... With the relief at the bottom of the neck... With arm bevels... It will be epic!

Here are some pictures of my body template as well as my homemade bending iron and the template to shape the back (it has a curve all along the length of the body. I have already shaped both body sides.

I'll keep updating when the project goes forward!

Very impressive just to even take on such a project.

What kind of wood are you using?

If you don't mind, kindly update this thread with your progress along the way as I am super interested.

Thanks! For sure I will update. But it will be a long project so be patient haha.

Since it if my first ever guitar I go with relatively cheap material just in car. The back, sides and neck will be Makore, the top will be cherry. I will use a remaining piece of wenge for the fret board and part of the rosette and the arm bevel.

If this is a success, I will most likely build another one using more exotic materials. We'll see!

Here are some progress pictures.

Second and last picture are the back and the front, in that order (the front is not yet cut).
