Challenger scat pack, if you just want more rear seat space
Charger scat pack ATS-V, would have bought this instead if it came with a V8 CTS-V, but .... more $$$ than I feel like dropping on a car Trackhawk, but .... way, way more $$$ than I feel like dropping on a car M3 - but only 2012 or earlier, because V8 vroom vroom STI - nope; already had two of these, not fast enough Focus RS no; friend had one, I thought it was too slow, sounded gross; friend traded it for his own SS 1LE... Golf R - stock it's not all that quick, but holy shitballs these can be pretty fast with mild mods C63 AMG - pretty expensive for my tastes, but my next-door neighbor has one and I get sprung every time I hear it drive by. Kind of heavy. Honestly, of all the cars I can think of, I'd be most tempted right now to get the Golf R and tune it. After that, it would probably be the Charger. Or I'd turn in the man card and get a Forester XT because I had one as a rental and it was really good at daily driving. I may get one anyway in a while and just bring out the 1LE for happy fun times. |

My 1LE isn't a daily driver. And, I have no issue with the amount of seating space.
I do need something else to drive. I'm thinking the Chevy Colorado ZR2 extended Cab with the Duramax Diesel motor. Retire my 05 Tacoma with 268K miles. It's time for a newer look, and the latest tech. The Tacoma still runs like a top, never once has she been back to the dealer for service. I have six German Shepherds. They all take turns riding in her. There isn't much interior left out in the back seating area. Just a bare bench seat, and the windows. Room isn't the issue, it will always be just my wife and I. Neither of us have, or ever want to have any kids. I need something to drive from Nov - April when the 1LE is put away for the winter. And, The ability to purchase something like an 8' 2x4" from Lowe's or Home Depot and be able to truck it home. |

Take another look at a silverado or sierra... the rear seats fold up and allow for better room for our golden retriever. also easier loading and unloading. Especially as she gets older, she has a harder time jumping out of the truck, and having her on the floor in the back is easier on her as well as easier on the truck -- the seats don't get those scratches and punctures even though we have one of those seat cover deals for her. The rear seat in the ZR2 is fixed and makes it harder for have the dogs in and out of it. Just a thought for you. I am also tall at 6 ft 2, and the seats in the ZR2 were made for guys 6ft and shorter. In terms of cool trucks - the ZR2 wins hands down, I agree. But the ZR2 is kind of a compromise. |

Thanks all. I think I'd be inclined to go the Challenger Scat Pack route if and when I have to make a change. Not adding to the "pit crew" but my boys, 10 and 12, are starting to have a really hard time getting in and out of the back of the car. The Challenger is so much bigger inside for everyone, has a normal trunk, and still has a lot of cool factor.
I really wish the seat would slide forward a few inches when it's tilted. That would help a lot. |

Chevy SS with an M6
ATS 2.0T M6 or ATS-V M6 Any of those would do. It aint fast, but my '15 Malibu hauls my wife, daughter, and dog around just fine. Quietly and with good gas mileage. Just hit 82k.
