I rarely do heel-and-toe, but I rarely brake hard or drive aggressive at the street, anyway.
This, the pedal heights make it more difficult to do when driving on the street. I still do it but the track where the brake pedal is further down in travel makes it much easier. The SRP pedals are nice as it places the throttle closer to the brake.

As stated the process if to keep the car as balanced as possible, it allows more speed to be carried.

Ahhh, that makes sense.

Do you guys ease off the clutch or just dump it?

pure "heel and toe" is difficult for me. I usually use more of the side of my foot to blip the throttle during threshold braking to rev match and keep the car balanced. I have a gas pedal with an extension as the pedals pictured above.

I just use the clutch as normal smooth action, I think. With practice it becomes second nature. Its a quicker action than street driving, but still smooth.

Great video. I also like the way he feathers the throttle. Wish it was in higher res. I've tried this a few times going into hard tight turns on back roads and failed miserably.

Love the wide gas pedal. Made one for my roadracer. You won't look back once you heel & toe. Anybody mention how much fun it is to get it right?

Great info guys.

Very informative.

Are they SRP pedals the best options for our 5th Gen Camaros? Any recommendations on which finish to pick?

I took the car last night after bleeding the clutch reservoir and I tried this heal toe method. Messed up a few times but a few times I hit the downshift just right and matched the revs...wow...what a difference...car felt smooth. Almost felt like I could accelerate through a corner much faster like this.

Might try this a few times on the track tomorrow if I have nobody behind me on a few turns.

Thx

Yeah I remember seeing that on another site, there are a few vid's on youtube showing it. $400 is pretty steep though

I have this installed on my Z06, and it works great. You can set the RPMs and duration on the down shift, and it really helps.

I also know how to heal-toe, but my size 13 feet makes it difficult. The only way it works is to put the ball of my foot on the brake and roll my ankle to blip the throttle with the right side of my foot.

I also have size 13 and this is the method I use, been doing it for 30+ years on everything I drive. Nothing feels as good as hitting it right. I also rev match downshifts on motorcycles, but obviously it's a slightly different technique.

Now the responses show up!

Size 12 here and a wide foot. I also use the ball of my foot and edge method.
