I am confused. The lightest CTS(V6) you can buy is just under 3700 pounds. The equivalent Camaro comes in WAY under that.

The equivalent CTS V is loaded with higher end luxury items as well as sound deadening material that the ZL1 will not have. I'm betting a significant weight difference between the 2. Also not sure where you got that the cts and camaro weigh the same.

Yes it is, Number 3....by 300 lbs...

V6 auto CTS: 3752lbs
V6 auto Camaro: 3435 lbs

T4 CTS: 3646 lbs
T4 Camaro: 3339 lbs

Now the ATS/Camaro...a smaller difference, but still in the Camaro's favor.

3,900-3,950 is my bet...S/C stuff adds closer to 80lbs on the nose, not 50. Add in heavier brakes, bracing and other refinements..that's still 200+lighter than a Gen 5 ZL1.

Yeah I think we will be right on the money. Don't see anyway it can get under 3900lbs. Because it will be loaded with features as well. Probably comparable to the 2SS which is around 3750lbs. Then the addition of supercharger, brakes, bigger wheels and tires.

3,9xx is what my vote is. I will be very impressed if it comes in under 3,900lbs.

If the 6th gen ZL1 weighed the same as the CTS-V, it would not have lost any weight compared to the 5th gen ZL1, which doesn't make any sense.

Relative to the ATS, the Camaro weighs either about the same (turbo 4 & NA V6) or up to around 120 lbs less (1SS to ATS-V).

But vs the larger CTS? The gap is a little more than 300 lbs across the board (with the Vsport being compared to the SS).

I can't see why plunking the LT4 into the Camaro shouldn't make it about 300 lbs lighter than the CTS-V. I'll concede that, due to unforseen additions and tweaks to the Camaro, it might be closer to 250 lbs less. That still puts an LT4 powered 6th gen at about 3900 lbs.

So, how much do you think a BASE ZL1 will be priced?
More $55K?

Right around 65k. Never thought I'd pay this much for a camaro, but dare I say it'll be an absolute steal considering the next best sub 100k sports car bargain right now is big bro z06. If the new gt500 can approach anywhere close to what the gt350 can do on the track, then you have a real 65k debate on your hands.

Definitely be more than $55k. The last ZL1 was $55k. I figure at least $62k to 65k

Start 59.9K would be fantastic
Add:
Recaro $1900
Carbon wheels $3K
CC brakes 7K
idk...probably check some boxes will drive it up pretty good but hope for ~60K base.
