When I took my test drive it was to decide whether or not I was going to buy the Camaro. I knew if I enjoyed the test drive I would be purchasing a 2SS so there wasn't a question of my driving a V6.

Welcome to the forums. It's rare that we see people specifically wanting a V6. I didn't initially... I wanted ONLY the V8 and refused to even contemplate the V6. But after some further discussion and weighing options... I opted to go the V6 route.

Now I'm looking into a trade-up possibility, but I might just stick with this as my daily driver and get a V8 when I pay this one off (been my goal from the get go and I might stick with it).

Never considered driving the V6 nor an automatic... Kinda knew what I wanted
Same deal when I purchased my 2005 Mustang GT, test driving a V6 was of no interest.

V6 here.matter of timing and not wanting to spend $7000 more for a V8,Putting the money away for other things and I have had v8 camaro's since 1983 and still have my 400 hp 98. Also its a daily driver and didn't need the power(being practical here)and tired of the 6 speed after 28 years in L.A. traffic so I got the one I have. Also is kinda rare on the color stripe combo for a 2ltrs.
I did drive the SS and I do love the car but for me was no different then my 98 do to the hp/weight ratio I have.

Had it been a few years back I probably would have gotten the SS.

I rented a SS on a whim from AVIS in January and was fell in love with the car and knew I had to have a Camaro. I didn't want to spend the extra money to purchase and decided to go with one of the V6 models (I didn't care whether it was an LS or LT). A few weeks later I decided to rent a V6 from AVIS to check it out. While I liked the car, what originally hooked me was the power from the V8 that slams your head back in the seat. I bought a 1SS in early March and 6 months and 9,000 miles later am not regretting the extra money I spent.

The V6 is an awesome car and I think I would have been more than thrilled to have one (especially coming from an '07 4 cyl. Nissan Altima) if I would have drove the V6 first. Any type of impartiality was thrown out by driving the SS first.

The car I brought home exactly matched the dream Camaro I built on Chevrolet's website. My online build was done not more than a week prior to finding it at the dealership.

Talk about a thrill!

However, I have driven the Cadillac CTS w/ V6 power plant, but the V8 Camaro is in a whole different ball park.

Drove the V-6 and the V-8. I never gave the V-6 a second thought. My 2SS will be here hopefully within the next 2 weeks.
