What was the resolution on this p0340 code. I just installed a new cam and springs and threw this immediately.

I pulled the sensor from the timing cover, ohmed it out good. Nothing was making contact. car drives fine. no long starts.

Should I just tune this code out so it never comes back?

I have seen several times where the bolts come loose on the cam sprocket.

Anytime components are replaced a "Crankshaft Variation Learn" procedure is recommended.

Highly doubtful they backed out after 30 seconds of driving. if that were the case, i might have seen signs of damage on the crank pos sensor.

Ill see if a relearn can be done with hpt.

The bolts could back out and would not contact the cam position sensor. Maybe the timing chain is off a tooth.

Thats true, but the gear could hit it, but i can tell you that is not my issue. I just beat the snot out of this thing, there is nothing mechanically wrong. It runs great, pulls hard. I just tried a case relearn, but its still there.

I'm gonna tune it out.

Also you want to check the electrical connection at the harness that has been the problem for some...

In the end I resolved the issue by performing a "Crank Relearn" using HP Tuners.
It is found in the VCM scanner speacial features tab.

The code is no longer generated at startup.

I know this is an old thread but here goes anyway... is there a manual relearn procedure? I just totally rebuilt a 2013 LS3 and it runs fine for about 5 miles and starts skipping/misfiring. compression fine, injectors fine, coil pack fine, all plugs are firing, so I think it's the cam sensor.
