the fit and finish between kooks and ARH are the same imo. Go with the lesser price. My kooks look and fit perfect.

I bought the ARH 2016-UP 6TH GEN CAMARO (LONG SYSTEM) CAV8-16178300LSWC from RDPStore.com ( https://www.rdpstore.com/p-7895-2016...78300lswc.aspx ). Their everyday discount of $203.00 ($2,247.00) & a 10% off promo got me a shipped to my door price of $2,022.30! I ordered them on a Sunday afternoon - UPS delivered them on Friday. Unfortunately, I have not yet installed them.

I'm confused. Why? You can run 2 3/4" all the way back or just cut off the reducer part of their connecting pipes and connect it to a 3" x pipe?

Unless I'm missing something.

Kooks doesn’t make an X pipe that connects to their headers and goes to the suitcase muffler. They are working on one but as far as I’ve heard, you can only preorder it right now. If you want to make a custom X or see if you can make another manufacturers work then by all means go ahead.

ARH and Kooks are the top 2 brands. On any other car I’d use them interchangeably. But on these cars until they make a long system that goes to the suitcase, I’d recommend ARH. Besides I do believe ARH edges out kooks ever so slightly, with their US sourced steel.

Many people recommend cheap headers and they usually drown out the people like me that like to buy the best when it’s a wise investment. Headers has to be one if the most controversial subjects on this forum.

So I more accurate statement would be that you dont know if you can use kooks with anything else. Not that you can't use kooks with anything else.

I have intentions of hooking up my kooks headers to a speed engineering x pipe and then the factory NPP. I thought maybe you knew something that I had not thought of. As soon as the kooks finally come in the mail... I guess I will find out.

I have coated Kooks 1 7/8 on order with catless mids and a full Borla exhaust.

It is worth the money for fit, leak free operation and wear/tear to spend the extra money for a top brand, likes Kooks or ARH. I put coated Kooks on my 2005 GTO in 2006 and 12 years later never a leak or burned plug wire and they look as good as new.

Kooks does make a Mid pipe that connects their headers to the factory NPP with or without cats. I have it and their headers... Part #22604181

So it's available now? Good to know. It wasn't a few weeks ago.

So go with Kooks Headers and their Connection Pipe (22604181).

I hear ya. I live in a rural county in Georgia that does not have emission inspections. Quite a few of the modded cars around here are catless. My wife hates it by the way. My GTO is catless and she hates the smell. I love it!!!

Ask this question in the thread link I posted... I know they are watching that one for comments like this.

I didn’t have a great experience with the Kooks headers I have on my ZL1. Mainly, I encountered some quality control issues with the 02 sensor bungs. On the driver side header, the 02 bottomed out on the merge spike inside the collector. Kooks made it right, but it was a bit of a pain and wasted a bunch of my time. Would have cost me money if I weren’t doing my own install.

I went with Kooks because I wanted the Gesi cats, and I was able to get a system with them for considerably less $$ (Black Friday deal) than from ARH. In hindsight, I wish I’d gone with ARH, as I’ve never been disappointed in their quality and workmanship.
