I'm going to guess this is all but invisible.
But not knowing the gear spacing, if you run to 8250 in first and then shift to second and don't drop below 6250 then you are ok. But if you don't then it seems like a 1/4 mile run would put you over 6250 for more than 8 seconds. So that being the case, I'm guessing the next gear gets you out of the 8 second range above 6250 rpm. In the "real world" I would doubt you would ever notice unless you just like hearing the engine in higher rpms and just wanted to play in the upper register, for acoustic reasons only. Then you might find this.

Someone from Michigan created an account on M6G to post this

Keep in mind that that the Voodoo's power band is 1500 rpm higher than the LS7. If the feature was still in pace, that would be like Chevy limiting excursions above 5000 rpm. Anyway, no longer an issue

No longer certain of what is true. How can someone feel confident in their life when true facts on the Internet can be posted and then immediately changed to completely different true facts?????

Yes, that GT40 sounds evil! You gotta love the Shelby following it.

1SS is too expensive. Well, not too expensive for what you get on a 1SS, however the 1SS being the "base V8" I would expect it to be cheaper. Starting price for a base GT is $32,300. So if I wanted to get a V8 and didn't care much about the other things I would have to pay $5,000 more for a Camaro than a Mustang. Seems silly to me. I don't understand why Chevy didn't make those add on options so that they can keep the "base" model in line with the price of a Mustang.
Also that 1SS price doesn't include mag ride, so figure an additional $1,500-2,000 for that.

They better get the weight down below the Mustang and just decimate it in every performance category. Unless they release a 1LE that blows mine out of the water, I don't think I will upgrade.

The new Camaros have always been about give it all to the customer (everything is included) without having to do a bunch of options and upgrades. So far they've been able to keep the price competitive, maybe not so much now. Let's hope the performance keeps the momentum going.

Where do you think the ZL1 and/or Z/28 will be priced?

all Chevy/GMC since the mid '60s. I was in intensive care for almost a month recently, gave me time reflect on what is important, so I am focusing on life, but high performance Chevys are still important to me. Clyde |
