Well hopefully putting together what Heather said, and the fact that it is in Livonia gives all of us there hope that we will be moving soon.

The pessimistic side of me wants to say that you just joined the group that's going to get shat on though.

Having my dealer contact check today hopefully will hear something back soon. I have had them call once before to the DBC where they were told my car was NOT on QC hold...yet the last update I have is a 4300 in Troy MI on 11/14. So today when they call again I told them I want SOMETHING....but mainly a damn good reason it's not in my driveway..

Just spoke with Chevy chat and pressed on getting more info and the rep was reluctant but finally caved and she checked 1 more source. She advised my vehicle is still in the quality control stage. For reference it was 3800 on 10/14

Just read an email from Monte Doran, Chevrolet Communications regarding my rather "nasty" email I sent him not long ago. He apologized for my frustration. He stated "As is part of our standard launch process with every vehicle model, we continually do quality audits of early build models before shipping a car to a customer. If the launch team finds anything they don't like during these audits, the first action is make running changes ensure additional cars built on the line don't have the same issues. The second action is to audit all cars built before that moment to either confirm the issue didn't appear on that car, or rectify the issue before the car ships. As you can imagine this is a very time consuming process, however we are now moving quickly and are clearing 100 cars a day through the process." He doesn't know when each vehicle will reach their dealerships. I had never asked him that, I wanted to know about the delay. So, there you have it. Another piece to the puzzle.

Good info. Not much more than our guesses but affirmation of our guesses is good. Not sure of daily production but my estimate is the first few days would total about a hundred a day then the next several days about one hundred and fifty then up to two hundred or more. Three weeks of initial production should be at least three thousand builds and as we know only one of those was timely released to a retail customer.

Also, the issue was not found until sometime in or shortly after the first three weeks of production. Thirty work days of repairs takes us to the end of November / the beginning of December.

I am going to assume that the issue was found in very late October, or very early November, since we know the 11/9 builds seem to be shipping fine for the most part, but week 10/19 and earlier are mostly held up. I don't know about the 10/26 folks...don't hear much about them.

So...assuming 100 a day being fixed (probably generous) and assuming they started the fixes on November 1 (again.. likely generous) that means it would take pretty much all month or so to fix all the produced cars. If they really are fixing 100 a day, and have been for a while, they have got to be most of the way through the QC holds. Then again....that is assuming none of them had to go BACK through QC again a 2nd time.

We should be seeing movement very soon. #WHEREISMYCAMARO

Monte Doran didn't say any or all of the initial builds needed to be repaired. He said they were to audit them. I assume he meant to look at each of the early builds to see if there were issues and then to correct them. We don't know when an issue at the plant first started or when it was discovered. Perhaps not all of the first builds were affected. Even if the issue was minor they would still have to correct it before shipping. He stated that the quality process is incredibly robust and I for one believe him.

Also went from 4300 to 4B00 finally since being 4300 since October lol

Dealer told me it's bayed for delivery another part of me is saying they are fixing whatever is wrong? Second time being at 4B00.

I'm just happy something is happening...does anybody know if the shipping process goes bayed then delivered? I thought it would have gone to 4200 from 4300 then to my dealer... Heh

So as you guys know, I worked in an auto assembly plant as a quality engineer.
One thing that I never understood was how the line handled defects.
Sometimes (rarely), they'd stop the line and fix the issue. But it had to be a severe problem.
More often than not, they'd keep building with the defect and repair after the vehicle was completed.

Car companies get "paid" when each unit rolls thru the exit garage door (that's how their accounting works). So they crank them out and fix them later. Sometimes building up a bunch of vehicles needing post-build repair.
Never understood that thinking. To me, take the line down, fix the issue, and move on.
Sure their accounting gets messed up a bit but so what.
Seems better for the plant, the workers, and the customers.
