I stopped by the shop to chat with the guys and found out that the black rim bolts will rust over time and that ARP makes a stainless replacement so I am going with those, so basically everything except the center cap will be polished!

I am currently running a set of MT ET Street R's 305/45-18's and they hook good so the 15's even more so???

I decided to not go with skinnies on the front because I am leaving these tires on the car (no more swapping out for track days). I was having a bit of trouble finding a front set of tires close to the same OD so it wouldn't throw codes but I believe we found a winning set:

On the 15x10 rear I will go with M/T ET Street R's - 325/50/15 as previously stated which is a 28.3" tire.

On the 17x8 front I will go with a Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico - 255/55/17 which is a 28.3" tire.

Looks like a perfect match!

Back to the drawing board. I didn't care if it was a tank tire so long as it fit, was light, and had a decent speed rating , but my son works at Discount Tire and they could only find one of them. Not too easy finding a 28" tire to fit a 17x8 rim. I found some run flats that were 27.6" which would be ok but they weighed like 36 lbs each,

I drive around on 28x4.50/17 m&h racemaster bias ply fronts no problem. I mean dont take a sharp turn at 70 and you'll b ok.

I am beginning to consider the skinnies if I can change my order. I am just not coming up with much to choose from for a 17x8 rim in a 28" tire.

Imma be honest i HATE my skinnies!!! Not street friendly. Stopping sucks, no brake boosting, walks bad in the grooves, and tons of like roll or oversteer feeling in curves. Did i mention STOPPING SUCKS. Im on a bias ply i think they make a radial now that may help some but i doubt alot. But mine is a HARD driven street toy

I was wondering about that. Pretty sure that M/T makes a radial front runner. Appreciate the honest feedback.

Well maybe I have found a suitable tire to fit the 17x8 Weld wheel.

Pirelli PZero 235/60R17

Now if Discount Tire can just locate some of them . . .

I have 18x7 on the front of mine. I like that I can have a decent tire up front. I also do 1/2 mile events and like to stop.

Would you happen to have a part number for the arp bolts? I'm looking at those same wheels.

thanks

Not yet, but I will try to get it for you. The shop owner was not there Friday but his lead mechanic told me about the bolts.
