funny how so many V6s owners are all excited for this new engine or something. GM is not putting it in a camaro anytime soon.. and if they did its going to cost more than a current v6 camaro cost. and it wont make any sense to put the same power as the v8. it simply cannot replace the current LFx engine.

Let's go Rangers!

Like I said I hope the come out with it, I think there is a market for it. I am not against it, it's just not my thing and I prefer an 8.

That's the ZL1 boss.
LS3 is 16 City and 24 Hightway with combined of 19. So yes the LF3 gets 1 mpg better. I do not know the actual weight of the engine but as another member mentioned the heat exchanger and turbos and all the plumbing adds weight so it will not be as light as the LFX. Time will tell what the truth is but if this is going to be a Z28 I would not buy it. Call me old fashioned or stuborn but I will take a big torquey V8 over a torquey turbo charged 6 any day. Just my opinion. |

I agree, there is a HUGE market for it, and i hope to see a Z28....personal prefrence is a choice, but dont try and compare when the numbers dont add up

Had a Vert SS for a week and spent like 200. (AVG mileage of about 19) I'm not arguing that the V6 doesn't get better mileage but what you are showing as an LS3 simply isn't true. |

Cool, but I have never seen a difference in real world driving between the two and would never run anything but premium in any V-8...

1) Does not beat out current V8 2) Complexity of TT system vs LS3 3) Heat soak issues 4) TTV6 does not belong in Z/28 5) Doesn't sound as good as V8 ZL1 is a 6.2 V8. It's supercharged. Those MPG numbers are for auto trans ZL1. |
