How did Ford get 400hp+
...out of a 5.0 liter engine in the 2011 Mustang and it took GM 6.2 liters to do the same?

2 cams, 4 valves to each cylinder more to it than that

Its not that they had to use higher displacement, its just the route they took. The Ford 5.0 may get 400hp but it doesn't get the 6.2L's torque.

You could look at it that way...OR... It took Ford another cam and more valves just to get close I love them both, Im a car guy, and I hope they are all around for many more years to come. Friday Nights at the track are going to be a blast this summer

I also thought I read somewhere that the compression ration was higher than the LS3. Something like 11:1. Don't flame me here just thinking out loud here. Not sure that would be enough to get it there but it can't hurt either.
