my point exactly. So why is it there in the first place.
I guess when the battery dies it is the only way to get inside the car.

I actually used my key in my door for the first time in 2 years on Tuesday due to a dead battery in the fob. When I opened the door with the key, it set the alarm off (maybe because I had locked it with the fob?). I had to put the key in the ignition to shut the damn thing up. lol. Best part was, it was at my monthly Camaro club meeting.

Did once when I first got the car, just to get the grease moving around in the cylinder. Then promptly cleaned the grease off my key, and never have again.
