GM High-Tech Performace claims the Camaro will be built
Check out the latest GM High-Tech Performace magazine...July '06. This mag usually always has the goodies on the Camaro. And...I don't think they would print this info if it wasn't reliable and verifiable. Let's see if I can plug in some pix...

Very interesting stuff! Thanks for sharing. Can't say I don't wish they'd produce it earlier though :(

I've read quite a few articles that say it could be out as soon as next year. Then you read stories like this and ouch. Who knows?...GM seems to be very quiet about all this. I betcha it comes out earlier than '09.
Here's another clip from the April '06 issue of GMHTP on page 10. |

Take what you read in the magazine's with a grain of salt...they're usually full of just speculation.
At this point though, if I were a betting man, my money would be on seeing a production version in the not too distant future. The '5th Gen. Bank Account' has already been set up. |

I think GM is getting a feel for the publics opinion. Do we like the car? What would we change if anything? How much would we be willing to pay for a car like this and would GM be able to sell enough units to make a profit? I think they kicked back after unveiling the Camaro watching what we all had to say. I mean come on, if no one said anything, would they still build it? NO. Now that they know it's a sellar, it's all the little stuff that needs to be put together. I betcha anything GM hasn't formally announced anything because they really don't know when they can have it ready. They are probably all still trying to figure that out as we speak. Let's hope they have enough people working on it that they can finalize and announce their plans soon enough.

i'm just worried that they take so long in planning and analyzing a business plan for the car that it completely loses all its buzz. They have to strike when the iron is hot when the craze over musclecars return is still high.

Come on people, read between the lines... There are at least four different concept Camaros in circulation right now and the car has a staring roll in a big time movie. I'll guarantee we'll see this masterpiece late next summer/early fall as an 08 model.

theres no way that this car is going to wait till 09 to come out especially if the challanger is coming out before that. those people in that magazine dont know any more about the car than we do. their just trying to start a bunch of hype. dont worry everyone the car is coming soon and i plan on having enough cash im my camaro5 savings account to pay it off.

Lets just say I have seen the corporate side of one of the "Big Three". Vehicles have gone from drawings to production in less than 18 months more than once…

I really do not think they will wait until 2009 for start of production with a release in '10. Several things contradict the report. 1. the zeta platform was ready this summer. 2. the challenger will be ready real soon because they will base it on the current Charger platform. 3. GM has been dumb in a lot of things, but to show a Camaro in the July '07 release of the transformer movie and NOT have anything for the public for another 3 years is just not smart business. Chevrolet is flying high with being #1 in sales. They got there by building what the customers want. " What do we want?" " Camaro" "When do we want it?" "NOW".
