ATI Super Damper
So, at 8600 miles, the dreaded harmonic balancer issue showed itself this weekend at Daytona. I noticed it maybe starting last month at Sumnit Point (thanks Barefoot Dave), but decided to put it off and wait till the off season. This was not a smart decision, but it will get replaced before VIR in October.
Symptoms: I had a little drive train vibration at high RPMs and a there was a bit of thread coming off the edge of the a/c belt. Well, after one session at the high banks and 154mph later, it came off the pulley. I had to cut it off and ran the rest of the 2 days without a/c. The vibration after that was very minimal but still noticeable. So, it's time for replacement and I am considering the ATI Super Damper. I've installed several of these on modified ZL1s, but not this stock LS7 motor. I am wondering if anyone else has done this? I'm looking to confirm the pulley sizes before I dive into this project. I know the dry sump needs to be moved out of the way, but any other tips you may have would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I answered my own questions today after some research. Ordered the ATI Super Damper from DynoSteve and www.RDPStore.com. $455.72 free shipping. Part number ATI 918620. Also picked up a new ARP crank bolt. I will report back once the installation is complete.
New OEM harmonic balancer was $200+ at the dealer, so I figured I'd go with a proven winner in the aftermarket. I know ATI makes the best setup for this scenario. Happy tracking...

Can’t wait. I’ve been looking at these for some time now because of the issue with the oem .

you can't go wrong with a ATI balancer for our cars, no problems with mine here. just make sure you get it torqued to spec |

The original owner of mine had the damper replaced with the GM damper by under GM warranty. This always peaked my interest for the ATI swap someday. Thanks for the research and info. Daytona will find the weak links.

Glad I read this. My car developed a vibration and it's driving me nuts. No bent wheels, Goodyear 3R's w/ good tread re-balanced, alignment good, checked inner / outer tie rods. Only thing left is driveshaft. Thank you
