You must push the plug wires in for an audible click. Spray a whisp of WD40 into the end of the wire before insertion and you will not have another fall off. After 400 miles on track at VIR running in excess of 150mph, no wires ever fell off. The coil pack side actually clicks twice when the wire is inserted.

Stock wires will suffice just fine. Take a pair of needle nose pliers and pinch the U shaped connector at the end of the wire, don't flatten them, just pinch them a little. When you go to put them back on, they should be extremely tight and somewhat difficult to reinstall. That will keep them from falling off.
