LOL welcome to the club! you have found the camaro's Achilles heel. Do you know how to PROPERLY flush the brake system? If not..LEARN TO, I am one of the fortunate ones that has 27k miles on a clutch, but I flush and fill the system with $80qt Castrol SRF once a month or more due to track usage. To make it simple, the slave cylinder is a piss poor design that allows clutch dust to enter the "closed" system and contaminate the fluid. Once the fluid gets hot/dirty, the master cylinder is too small to move enough fluid to operate the clutch properly and the pedal is stuck on the floor. It is a LOOOOOOOOOOONG road to get chevy to do anything besides replace with the same parts...rinse/repeat.

If it just gets stuck pressing it down, drive that back to the dealer. If it get stuck during launching or high rpm shifting..... as backeddy said "LOL welcome to the club!" He pretty much hit the nail on the head with what you have to do. Even then flushing the fluid doesn't eliminate the problem. Have to upgrade some things.

Be aware of the "Abused" axe from Chevy too.....they use it quite often in this area, because they are aware of the design flaw and do not want to admit fault...

They claimed "abuse" the one and only time I had the issue, fortunately the $500 per year worth of SRF I run through the system has worked for me. If you search the boards you will find horror stories of dealing with GMCS on this issue. When/if they offer to "fix" it, go buy an upgraded STEEL slave and have them put it in, along with a tick bleeder. They will not warrant it but you won't need it (most likely). I would NOT recommend doing a separate reservoir, which is another "common" upgrade.
Be VERY aware that the slave is PLASTIC and doing hard launches is going to heat it up and it WILL FAIL. There are great track cars, not so much at the strip...just my 02 from racing one of these for the last 15 months. |

They wont do anything in that case. Its a well known and documented problem with 5th gen Camaros.
Here is the TSB for the pedal sticking on another thread

You said launching, that's aggressive. Launching is as fast as you can get the car going from a dead stop to whatever speed.

Play dumb......they might "fix" it...then show up with the upgraded slave and tick bleeder and "I went home and researched this and I want to be proactive, so I do not have to keep coming back for this issue, can you put these on while you have it apart"
$500 for tick/new slave if they do labor....$2000 total if not! YIKES! |

That was my misunderstanding. I havent even pressed the car past 2600 RPM. It just happens randomly while shifting. I was in second going into third at 30MPH and shifted and it got stuck,

Just take it in. It's new enough that they should know you haven't been beating the crap out of it.
I've never even heard of this problem before.... |
