Toyo R888r on Z-28?

Has anyone tried the new Toyo R888r?

From my discussion with my Tire Rack salesman it seems worth considering for a mostly track use Z-28.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Proxes R888 are decent. They are noisy, but who cares on track. Wear is very good compared to the Trofeos. You may also consider Bridgestone RE71R or Michelin 4S Pilot Sport. Of course, Nitto NT01 are also a possibility.

Tire Rack said the the R888r is a totally new tire, much quieter than the original R888. The 888r is a dry tire, whereas the 888 i suitable for the wet.

ok...the R version is the new and improved...go for it! Please give feedback and a review! Price is the same between the standard R888 and the "R" version. Treadwear rating is 100 on both tires as well. What did Tire Rack say was the big difference? The description of both the standard R888 and R state they are equally sucky in wet conditions.

At Limerock Z28 driver did around 1min laps with the Pirelli Trefeo Rs, with R888s he is at around 1:02 secs. per lap.
