Camaro shopping

hey guys some of you may know im suppose to be going saturday to get my first camaro! its a v6 at preston hood chevy in biloxi ashen grey and a 1ls . definitely a nice car. However a dealership near me has had a 2010 RJT 1ss for about 2 weeks and i stopped by and took a look a look and test drive yesterday and it seems to be in good shape. It too is a manual. it has 40,000 miles on it and it will be my daily driver. The tires and clutch still have a good bit of life left in them. theyre asking about 25k if i could get them to come off about a grand would that be a good deal? any advice? or should i check anything in particular out? Oh btw car has magnaflow exhaust with resonators(sounds OK but tips are WAY to big!) and has a k&n cold air intake.

Too much, For 40.000 miles there smoking something. You never know what the condition of the clutch is unless you pull it apart. I would offer 20k out the door.

I'd walk away from that car. With the mods, you can expect it was rode hard. There's a reason dealers want cars with no mods. Easier to sell and you get top dollar. This sounds like top dollar for a modded car.

a few things. first, you just cant beat new. It's nice knowing nobody but you has ever driven the car. and on a more practical note, its an SS camaro. pretty good chance its been driven hard and/or abused. Second, you said daily driver. if that's the case, the 6 may be a better fit for you. and if its mostly city driving, you might want to consider and auto. and lastly, as other have said, too high for the SS

and by the way, how do you know the clutch has a good bit of life in it?

The 40k mile 1SS is probably worth about $22k-$23k. $25k is too much.

I would do the new 2104. Warranty+Better on Gas+its new+25k for a 2010 is crazy they would not pay more then 20k on trade for that car and they would over 16-18k as trade to start.

Yeah 22K is a fair retail price for that car. its few months from 5 years old with 40k miles that is a used car.

Thanks for the info guys, i appreciate it! Dont get me wrong i want the SS more than anything but the one thing that makes me feel uneasy is the mileage, i guess thats a sign huh? Sounds like going for the 2014 v6 is a better option. Its a brand new bare bones 1ls. Its in biloxi mississippi and they were asking something rediculous like 23,700 for it i told him if he could get it to 22500 and start the negotiation there id be up there saturday morning to tsake a look. Lately ive been seeing new 2ls going for that price around here. From what i've noticed similar equiped auto cars typically go for 1000 more.So do you guys think getting 21500 is entirely possible?

how is 40k miles on a 4 year old car, a lot of miles? that's 10k a year. Doesn't hurt to say you will take the car for 25k OTD price. What will happen is that you will get the v6, and wish you had the power of the v8.

We northerners are probably a bit off on used rear wheel drive cars, they plummet in value up here the second you leave the lot. Most times in 3-5 years with avg miles they are worth half what you paid if you are lucky. Especially after a bad winter like this one. No one wants to be stuck trying to get around in the snow in one used 4X4's hold there value very well up here. Southern market is probably a lot different for used rear wheel drive cars.
