255/45/20 for rear
Would a 255/45/20 all the way around car look bad? Really trying to see if more a sidewalk would help with traction problems. Also want to be able to rotate tires.

If you really don’t care about cornering and accelerating hard, they should be fine. But you should get 2 wheels to match whichever wheels you plan to use, front or backs. Probably the most popular approach is to find another set of rear wheels and run rear sized tires 275/40-20 all around.
If you want more acceleration traction, softer compound tires or taller, wider tires or both. If you want cornering and acceleration, it starts costing more money quickly. Highly capable cornering type tires are pretty expensive, generally. There’s some bargains but the best always cost a lot. If you have tires that are several years old, they’ll be dry and hard compared to any new tires, even the same brand/model. New tires always hook up better.

All things being equal as far as same brand/model tire, that size is going to be thinner (and slightly taller) than the OE rears on an SS. So a thinner rear tire will not help with traction, it will hurt it.
