Woodward Dream Cruise

Any of you Camaro5 members attending this Cruise in August. I am going for the first time and will be driving my ZL1. This is the first time I have ever drove this car for a long distance. Its going to be a 600 mile journey one way. I really looking forward to getting some seat time.

You will be amazed ...It is a spectacular event!!!

I'm fortunate, because on any weekend, there is
an area that the Detroit 5th Club meets.
For us....it's a cruise every weekend......

But the Dream Cuise Weekend ....is the BIG event!

When you are here ...I would love to have you meet our group!

Take a look at this thread from last year....
....Lots of Pics!!!

I live one block off Woodward so I can't miss the Cruise if I wanted to- which I don't because it's better than Christmas, Easter, and Halloween combined

You can almost see Mustang Alley from my house so this year (first with a Camaro) should be fun. My street is full of Mustangs all day on Saturday.

Woodward is awesome every night the week leading up to the Cruise as well. Not as many cars but still hundreds if not thousands, and less traffic.

I used to live a block off of Woodward near 9 Mile. The dream cruise is like walking into a time-agnostic car meet. It's Detroit steel from every era and then some. Always enjoyed it. Even though parking was an absolute pain. Hopefully the other clubs in the area, like the DeLoreans and Bricklins, are still haunting the cruise, too.

That's where I live, 2 streets south of 9 one block east.

One of the things I like about the Cruise is the variety. There is almost every type of thing on the street you can imagine. And everyone loves everything. Nobody is bothered by lowriders being around their muscle cars or wooden wheel antiques cruising with VW busses.... everything goes.

Best car show on the planet, bar none.

I've gone many times. I've parked and sat in a lawn chair and watched them roll by which is awesome!

And, I've driven the cruise as well - which is awesome!

It is a great event, no matter how you see. Just go see it!

I was one block north, two blocks west. So you can throw a rock and hit the WAB or the Emory, eh?

I miss Burger Tuesdays at the Emory. And Anita's Kitchen. And the Fly Trap. And Toast.

I do not miss the thirty pounds I lost when I moved away, though.

If you apply early enough, Royal Oak has a Memorial Park that for $40, you can park there for both Friday and Saturday.
Memorial Park is right at the midpoint of the cruise at 13 mile.
For the $40 entry fee, you also get a roped off area of bleachers right on Woodward to sit and watch the cars go by.

We ran on Woodward Avenue every weekend in our younger years. It is a time to remember. We love going back every year. Now we are taking our grandchildren.
