Stainless works exhaust question
Hey everyone! I’m in the market to buy a stainless works axle-back or cat-back exhaust. I was wondering who owns it and what you think about it. I don’t have headers or any engine mods, so it would just be that installed on my Camaro. Is there any drone? Is it significantly louder than the stock NPP?

I have their older, catless, full system. Slightly louder than stock. But pretty loud when the valves are open an at full throttle. The left NPP valve recently broke (the shaft broke in two) so it stays in the open position, but I'm not spending $1500 on new mufflers just so the valve will stay closed. Other than that, it's a good sound and a nice product.

I don't consider it raspy, have received many compliments from guys my age (50's) on how good it sounds. Very slight drone climbing slight hills at 65mph in 6th, but my wife has never even mentioned it so it must not be too bad.

I have the older one as well. Originally on my 2ss now on my zl1. With headers, there is decent drone around 2500 rpm, but tolerable. Just with an axleback, it makes the car much louder than stock, but still very manageable with sound. I love mine, I actually can wait on headers now, got enough sound from the axleback.

Yes, I would say it's definitely a noticeable difference, lol. I think cat back would be best, but gets pricey fast, and not much performance. Mainly a sound upgrade at this point.

I also have the Legend cat-back system on my 22SS and the sound is great and no drone.

Just a heads up, the original design caused some drone, butthey updated their muffler line with different series as well.
