Chevy vs. Ford: Testimony!

Yesterday, I sold my '02 Silverado. I hate to see it go, but I have too many vehicles, and it was time to cull the herd.

A guy drove from 240 miles away to buy it. He drove a Ford Expedition pulling a tow dolly.

We loaded the Silverado onto the dolly, and off he went.

He just shot me a text a few minutes ago... turns out, on the way home, the Ford had some grand mechanical failure. He ended up having to swap the vehicles around on the highway, and the Silverado ended up towing the Expedition home.

... as it should be!

Cobra is so awesome! I like the GT350 and the GT500, anything Shelby and SVT, but the SVT division was discontinued a while back like everyone knows. At the same time my Camaro 2SS, which I still drive but have half ownership yet still pay for the insurance, is a blast to drive. My [now hydrolocked] SHO was decent, but still good.

I prefer GM over ford, and my 2016 explorer interceptor is a turd, but our flex is a really good vehicle. On the other hand our Dodge Grand Caravan has been a steaming pile of crap!!!

What engine do you have in the flex? Overall what are your pro and cons. Thinking About one for the wide But worried it may be to large for her.

Edit: wife, she's skinny not wide.

Ours is a 2012 (older nose) and it rides really nice. It's the Limited AWD with the 3.5L V-6 (262hp). My take home police explorer has the 3.7L V-6 (304hp) & also AWD, and it is definitely more lively, but I like the Flex waaaaay better. It is bigger and heavier, but it's better in the snow and has much better seats. That might be the fact the explorer is a police car though (unmarked, no cage). With the seats folded in the Flex we have a ton of room and she likes it as its not real high (she's 5'1"). She drives the Flex like a champ though. She loves it.

Did you have that exhaust fumes issue in the cab that was reported in the Interceptor?

Our department received the letter from ford and they are going to look at them. They discussed putting carbon monoxide testers in the cabin. Ford's excuse is people are cutting holes in the floors and changing the exhausts, which is utter nonsense.
