ZL1 DRIVE MODES

Will the '17 ZL1 get all the same modes (sport/track/tour/snow ice) like the 2SS, or do we think it will have it's own?

I think it will have an extra or 2 modes over the SS. Most likely will share the same as 1LE and the "Z/28". Like Sport +, Track + and maybe even have multiple track modes for weather (wet track PTM mode). Like the c6 ZR1 did but of course that is just an assumption at this point since no one knows, except the engineers that worked on the car and other GM employees lol.

They also mentioned something about custom launch control.
I don't know exactly what that entails, yet, as they haven't really explained it.

Thank you! Exactly what I had in mind but my mind was drawing a blank on the exact modes + coffee hasn't kicked in thus no research ability atm lol.

Can anyone elaborate what snow mode will do? Ive never had a car with a snow mode, just ABS,TSC and ESC, which I use 95% of the time in winter. Is it just throttle control or will it go into some sort of limp mode and power itself down?

Changes MRC dynamics (if equipped with MRC) as well as very gentle throttle response (pedal height, having to press down even further for acceleration compared to other modes) progression.

4 modes may not be enough 5 like the Vette would be better... A lot of power to control for the Nut behind The Wheel!
Can't wait to order a ZL1. Love my V6, though

All settings in Snow/Ice mode are the same as Tour except for the following:

Throttle Progression (much less aggressive)
NPP (Stealth)
Ambient Lighting (Ice Blue)

The only extra mode the Corvette has that the Camaro does not is "Eco" mode...ironic, really that the Camaro ditched that one.

With driver mode selector and PTM together (assuming PTM stays the same as last gen and the C7 Vette), the ZL1 will have a total of NINE distinct driving mode selections.

SNOW/ICE
TOUR
SPORT
TRACK
TRACK (PTM WET)
TRACK (PTM DRY)
TRACK (PTM SPORT 1)
TRACK (PTM SPORT 2)
TRACK (PTM RACE)

**I assume "custom launch control" will be available in TRACK, PTM RACE.....**

I was hoping there would be more to it. so in snow setting are ice blue lighting and stealth changeable or fixed? I prefer red lighting for my eyes and loud exhaust for my ear and hopefully to warn some deer.

Snow=Eco mode basically?

Nope. Corvette has a "Weather" mode, as well....Weather and Snow would be similar.

Eco mode's only real effect is a more aggressive activation of Cylinder Deactivation on the Stingray to maximize fuel economy.

The exhaust noise and the lighting can be permanently set to a selection of your choice permanently, regardless of the driving mode selected.

I heard them say the ZL1 was based on the "1LE Platform", I think it's safe to assume that the 1LE will have these modes too. At least I hope so.

Some great insight going on here! Who knows, maybe with all these different potential modes we'll be spinning a dial for 10 modes rather than flicking a switch up and down for 4 like in the 2SS??
