Anyone using fitbit?
Our company got us fit bit flex. I just got mine going. I have finally found me an exercise class & changes in my job are going to allow me to get myself back on track. Bad news in I have put on 20 lbs in the 1 year my job had me screwed up for keeping in shape so I have my work cut put for me.
Is anyone using the fitbit? Are you on their forum? Any tips or pointers from folks using them a while. Wanna network & help, support & motivate each other? Of course, I an RubyCamaro on their forum.

Save your receipt I know a handful of people (my wife included) who have had them quit working in the 3-6 month range

No receipt. Company bought it. If it quits, no loss to me.

My wife tried a Fitbit and didn't like it all that much, I have a body media I use and it has helped me drastically. Between that and logging food on myfitnesspal it wakes you up to bad eating/exercise habbits

I use the basic one, and have for about 18 months, I use it in conjunction with the myfitnesspal app to track what I eat, I am very religious about it and have lost 90lbs since July 2013.
I have another 100 to go to reach my goal weight (I was over 400lbs when I started). I am lucky that the new company I started with in July 2013 has an in house gym and I can work out before and/or after work now without any excuses. I am up to a medium fast walk about 5 mph consistent for 6 miles a day along with weight workouts. It's been hard because I have some injuries that severely limit what I can do, but at my last job I worked 12-14 hours a day and gained over 200lbs in the 8 years I was there because of the stress and horrible eating habits I developed because of my work schedule and it was killing me, I changed jobs and changed my life. I use the fitbit as a constant reminder to get up and move, though I can't sleep with it on, bugs me to have it on my wrist when I sleep. There are several apps that work in conjunction with it, personally I am holding out for the Apple watch to replace my fitbit as it will have a lot more options and things to track without using multiple devices like heart rate monitors and such.

Work has been a big part of my problem this year too.
I have put back on 20 lbs over the past year. I had done really well for several years gradually losing from a size 16 down to size 8. Now I am back in 12's & mad at myself. My job changed resulting in a much longer commute time. I could not find an exercise class to replace the one I could no longer make then just lost motivation. By the time I got home I was spent, and still had computer work to do sometimes until past my bedtime. I have finally negotiated some changes in my job so I work closer to home 3 days a week, found a new class & can use the local gym other days. I just got my fitbit yesterday & am slowly figuring out how it can help me. Looking forward to support from new friends there (fitbit forum) as well as here.

I don't belong to any of the fitbit forums, I've read them and not found them to be much help, a lot of know it alls that want to tell you what you are doing wrong, don't need the negativity.

PMC and I just got them over the last week. I love it and I also heard about keeping the receipt. I hear they are really great about replacing them if you lose it or it breaks.

I was disappointed when I searched Camaro and nothing came up in the groups, so I create a group for us fitbitters.
https://www.fitbit.com/group/22QQF3 Edit: I guess the link does not work. Go to Activity Groups and search for Camaro5.com Members

Those kinds of calorie trackers are a great tool. I recommend also getting into the habit of recording everything you eat. If you have to face everything that you ingest, you're less likely to go overboard when it comes to calorie consumption. There are a few good apps for that.

I don't have a Fitbit, my wife bought me a jawbone UP24. It would be nicer if it had a screen on it, at least for the time. I would also like something that worked with more features the iPhone offers. The blood pressure and stuff would be cool
